A beautifully painted Russian icon depicting the mother of God of Kazan (‘Kazanskaja’).
According to the legend, the archetype of this icon was found following a suggestion by the mother of God by the peasant girl Matrena under the remains of a burnt out house by Kazan. After it was transferred to the main church of Kazan icon, it is said that many miracles happened around the icon. On the left side of the icon there is a picture of the  Metropolitan of the whole of Russia, Petr.  On the right side there is a picture of the Holy Veronica.


Dimensions (h x w x d): 30.5 x 26 x 2.5 cm.
Weight: 1280 grams.
