This is a hand-knotted Tabriz rug, made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Tabriz is one of the oldest cities in Iran. Tabriz rugs come with various designs; these carpets often depict old palaces or ruins. The most common colours are beige, blue and red. They are durable, high-quality rugs, often made of fine wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread). A good Tabriz has a short and rough pile.
Tabriz rugs are excellent rugs for daily use, with high durability.
Later, Tabriz rugs were also made in India, in which case they are called Oriental rugs.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This carpet was imported from Iran before 2000.
Size: Approx. 327 x 230 cm
