Exceptionally beautiful and also heavy silver-plated bronze vide poche in the form of a shell which is decorated in relief with a seated water nymph and various fish.
Beautifully designed and created by the French sculptor Auguste Ledru who has signed the piece on the front as well.
At the back also nicely decorated and marked by the Paris bronze foundry Susse Frères. There is also another mark with the text ‘copyright Susse Frères' and the initials of the man who cast the piece.
Bronze statues with a foundry stamp stand for quality and always have an added value.
The dish weighs pretty heavy: 1.5 kg and the dimensions are: 19 cm long x 15.5 cm wide x 2.5 cm deep. After auction the dish will be excellently packaged for shipment.
