The summit of the mask is topped by a hairstyle which is decorated with imposing braids.
This mask supposes a seated character with a long beard, and the hands laying on the knees. The BAULE live in the Southeast of Ivory Coast. They are part of the AKAN ethnic group. We can note that their craftsmanship is not scary. The living conditions of the BAULE are certainly among the best in the country and it shows up on their serene masks and their sophisticated statuary.
