34.3 x 27.3 cm, original silver gelatin print, printed by Andre de Dienes (1913-1985) himself around 1960. Stamps of the photographer are on the back. Condition: Good, minor damage around the edges (see scan). Provided: a certificate of authenticity, sent by registered mail.
Andre de Dienes (1913-1985) was born in Hungary. After an art education in Paris he worked there as a photographer for, among others, l’humanité and Associated Press. In 1938, he emigrated to the United States and dedicated himself to fashion, nude and landscape photography. He worked for magazines like Esquire, Vogue and Life. He is best known for his photographs of Marilyn Monroe but also photographed Anita Ekberg, Ingrid Bergman, Jane Russell, and many others.
