St Valentine bust
Antique image in lime
Beautiful image of Pater St. Valentinus also called Saint Peter of Hasselt (Belgium).
As you can testify yourself, the patience was displayed with extreme refinement.
Jan Louis Paquay was born in Tongeren on November 17, 1828.
Jan Louis suddenly changed school direction and joined the Lesser Brothers in Tielt. He wanted to be followers of the H. Franciscus of Assisi.
The Lesser Brothers were also chased out of their monasteries in Belgium by the French Revolution. The storm of prosecution had lain and the monastic life flourished again.
In 1849 Jan Louis Paquay was adopted by the first provincial Louis Bourgeois in the newly established Belgian province. He received the monastery name: Valentine.
In 1854 on June 10, he was appointed priest and appointed at the municipality of Hasselt, who, since 1846, at the request of the spa dean, assured the service in the Our Lady Church.
Died on January 1, 1905.
