Arcadia was a blessed region of the Peloponnese where
men, it is said, rubbed shoulders with the gods. There were
along with the home of the god Pan and all the
fantastic creatures that called it home: satyrs, nymphs, etc.
It's there, also, that we may encounter Chiron, sage
among sages of the centaur race. Doctor, scholar, and
philosopher, he was the preceptor of Jason, who made himself
famous during his quest for the golden fleece. Similarly, Heracles
lived there for some of his more epic adventures.
