This beautiful bust represents the young Louise Brongniart, made by the Van Paridon brothers from Amsterdam following the example of the French sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741-1828) This sculpture is created between 1900 and 1920 and made from Paridur, this is a composite consisting of plaster with synthetic resins. It stands on a loose pedestal.
The sculpture is signed with Gvp and number 680, the matching pedestal isn’t signed or numbered.
After 1920 the Paridons primarily made Christian religious sculptures and stopped with classic and modern art.
The sculpture is 20 cm high, the pedestal is 9 cm high with a diameter of 10 cm.
