Iranian Bidjar rug
Bidjar is a small Kurdish town in Western Iran
Bidjar is a type of Persian rug. It's dominant feature is its weft, usually made up of 5 threads, 4 quite loose woollen ones and a central taut cotton thread. The weaver has to use a special comb to pack the knots, which gives the carpet a very tight and heavy appearance. They are known as "the iron carpets" as they are so durable, as well as beautiful.
These rugs have a sober elegance and will look good in most places. Durability and the beauty of the colours are the distinguishing features of these rugs, dark tones for the field (midnight blue, amaranth red, bottle green) and bright colours for the patterns.

Legal notice concerning the import of Iranian rugs:
This rug was imported to Europe before 1 January 2015.
