Very early Orville LPC from the Terada era by Yamano Gakki. Very difficult to obtain in Europe since the tightening of the CITIES regulations (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) at the beginning of this year.
This used and rare Orville Les Paul Custom (model LPC-75, Terada production 1989-90) is looking for a new home. Although I have increasingly less time to play music, I really hate to say goodbye to this instrument. The serial number (K097368) on the back of the head plate was carefully removed. The strap pin on the bottom of the body was pressed into the wood during transport to Switzerland, it sits firmly and does not wobble. I was able to play the guitar with my leather strap without any problems. (Vintage Bobby Lee, about 4 mm thick, not for sale). The neck profile is slightly more rounded and not as full as a 60s slim shape of today’s Gibson productions, comparable with i. a. thin to medium C neck profiles of countless Fender guitars from the 1960s (1st: 20 mm 12th: 23 mm/.79 x .90). Comfortable, easy to play instrument. The body has small dents and the varnish is chipped in places. The finish on the back shows streaks from the strap. The plating of the gold hardware has faded over the decades, which results in a beautiful patina (similar to the Gibson V.O.S.). The pickups (made in Japan) are tuned to the P.A.F. Gibson humbucker, although they are built differently. The sound is fabulous, it’s full and warm, with a pleasant output.
The neck mounting of the Terada models is a so-called "short tenon" (Fujigen productions had the "long tenon"). This guitar, like many K models built between 1988/89 and 1993/94, also has a darker fingerboard (not ebony). Weight approx. 4.4 kg.
I’ve converted this guitar based on a 1957-59 LPC model, all original parts from the 1989/90 production are available and included in the scope of delivery: original Gotoh mechanics, original jack plate, original Trussrod cover. Further components for the modification: several metric toggle switch tips (the black knob is from the former Terada production), four vintage style Bell/Dome speed control knobs with golden digits, two curved PU mounting rings for Japanese export models (Epiphone, Greco, Burny, Orville). Comes with a high-quality LP case with lock. Sale without warranty or returns!
