Fine keris – Java – Solo
Large gleaming blade with rich, complex pamor (Beras Wutah = scattered rice grains), it is a good fit for the sheath. The blade 'sings' when it is pulled from the sheath. It is fitted with a Gayaman sheath that has a good patina and a lightly silvered halopen Blewah pendok.
In terms of colour and gloss, the hardwood handle is an excellent match for the keris. The patras are well-carved and the bottom one implies a very old age; some nice wear is visible, caused by gripping it (presumably from the 18th century!). The ring, mendak (kendit model) is very beautiful, with carved zirconia and quartz stones.
Keris can stand upside-down very well (head of the handle) without falling over, so it is very balanced.
Comes with a nice singep ( = protective cover) and a genuine keris coin from Malaysia in a removable key ring.
