Very beautiful condition. 1st part of the XIX century. Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
Very finely carved in a strongly grained ivory heart.
This seal represents the “fist of vengeance”- Symbol (here) of the region’s (what would become Italy) public figures’ opposition to the Austrian occupation of the first part of the XIX century.
The fist is even holding a snake, which is the symbol of vengeance!!!
The base has been tested with a touchstone and is Sterling silver. It is in the rocaille style- there aren’t, of course, any monograms but only a diamond patterned surface referred to as “abeille” (bee) completely... anonymous...
State of the whole piece: Superb/ very beautiful- No cracks (from dryness or breaking)- No restorations- Nothing missing-
The seal is not insolated.
Dates from the first part of the XIX century.
Size: Height 5 cm.
Weight: 8.61 grams
This piece dates from well before 1947 and is in perfect compliance with the terms of the WDC Convention on ivory trade- Certificate is attached to photo No. 10.
