Arthur Haegebaert sometimes spelled Haeghebaert (Assebroek 1876 - Roeselaere 1942) was a Belgian painter. Training at the Academy in Bruges, Antwerp and Brussels, lived in the Netherlands from 1914 to 1922 and settled in Knokke and Duinbergen in 1924 where he led a gallery. During that time, he was friends with James Ensor, Henri Permeke and Isidore Opsomer. Preference for landscapes, portraits, Bruges cityscapes, marines and the Ways of the Cross. His Stations of the Cross paintings can be seen in churches in Vlissingen and Klerken. Mentioned in Belgian art books. He is an internationally known painter.
