Henri Joseph Pauwels (Haasdonk 1903 - Beveren - Waas 1983) was a Belgian painter of decorative landscapes, interiors, marines and port views of Antwerp. In a poetic and optimistic sometimes very virtuoso post-impressionist style with loose brushwork and bright colours. Henri Joseph Pauwels expressed himself using the landscapes of the Waasland. Pauwels had a preference for classical landscapes, navy scenes, harbour views of Antwerp and interiors. Henri Joseph Pauwels painted all this with slight impressionistic brushwork.
Mentioned in the Belgian art books. International well-known painter.
Oil on canvas (40 x 30 cm) in good condition, the cloth does not look dirty, the brown colour is specially mixed into the varnish to create a brownish background
With frame (49 x 39 cm), which is in good condition but with some signs of wear.
