A specially decorated copy of an Economic Classic

Condition: Fine
Language: English
Edition: 1st Edition
Publication year: 1831
Author: Richard Jones
Book Title: An Essay on the Distribution of Wealth and on the Sources of Taxation
Number of Books: 1
Publisher: John Murray
Binding: Hardback

London, John Murray

1st Edition. Complete and with text block in fine condition, 8vo (22 by 14cm), (4), xliv, 329, 49 with errata to verso of final leaf. Missing, as in most copies, is the errata leaf following the Copyright page. But, Half title present. Bound in full brown buckram with gilt title on spine. plus some fake Cnotes, Golf plated coins, and a Pre WWI German Reich Mark. Ex Libris St. Francis Seminary Salzman Library, St. Francis, Wis with their rubber stamp on the title page. Remnants of Library junk to f.e.p. A supposedly "Great" foundation stone of Economics, and especially the Historical School, it was soon bypassed by Marx and the Chicago School as well as the Khaldun-Laffer curve, and, lest we forget, Ayn Rand and the Austrian School--all of which, fittingly ended up in a Land Fill outside of Cleveland or a similar rust belt city. A terrific Xmas gift for a Sadist to give any of his friends/paramours or former Economics Professors.

  • Shipping costs much too high, book missed one color illustration which was not mentioned in item description.

    Groeg September 13, 2017

    Response by seller
It's not missing a drawing that was never called for. He knew what the shipping cost would be before he bid. Will not be allowed to bid on anymore of my auctions

The books received are in a much worse condition than described:. Spine of Vol. I is not only "tender", but open from top to bottom. All four spine ends are damaged. Both backs with lack of leather.

    Response by seller
Where are the scans of the damages? I pack books well but cannot held responsible for PO damage or clumsy buyers.
  • The book was wet and moldy

    florentiuvalentintanascov September 7, 2017

    Response by seller
Unless the PO dropped it into a puddle, there was no way it was wet and "moldy" No scans provided—just a buyer trying to sully my reputation. (most likely he was upset with the price he paid)

135 euro is hierboven aangegeven; Ik betaalde 144 euro. De verzendkosten bij deze verkoper zijn extreem

    Response by seller
If he thinks shipping is too expensive DON"T BUY IT He knows what exactly the shipping cost will be before he bid on it. It cost me $35 USD to ship him the books exactly what I charged him.
  • Lovely item - as described, thank you.
