Mary Dambiermont was born on 19 May 1932 near Liege but she spent most of her life in St. Jans Molenbeek. Already at the end of her studies, she was rewarded by the Belgian Government and many awards would follow. Pretty soon she began with the design of tapestries and her unique style earned her a lot of assignments for expo '58 and her work can be admired in the Belgian Senate, the higher court of Justice in Luxembourg and in the buildings of the EU.
In addition to her tapestries she also kept illustrating the ordinary affairs of everyday life in the suburbs around Brussels.
This work was part of her project "Les Artisanales" from the beginning of the 1970s. A number of coastal works on cardboard of the artisanal life.
