This is a hand-knotted Bukhara rug, made of durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Bukhara (or Bouchara) is located in Uzbekistan. Bukhara rugs have repeating patterns based on 'Göls' (elephant feet).
Bukhara rugs are supple, durable rugs made of wool, with exceptional shine, on a cotton warp (bobbin thread). Bukhara rugs are made in various countries, including Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
Measurements: approx. 239 x 86 cm.
Main colour: Rust brown
Cream, mint green, yellow ochre and shades of blue.
