'' This find (which I have recorded as EMC 2017.0217) is only the second known coin of the London moneyer Ealdnoth in the coinage of Offa. Derek Chick's book The Coinage of Offa and his Contemporaries records one other coin of this moneyer (Chick 34), which was found in about 1999. Your coin differs from this first specimen in the inscriptions on both sides: the Chick coin has a cross between OFFA and REX, and a normal letter N (the N on your coin is reversely barred).,,
