Mechanical spring driven movement with counting wheel – 8 days power reserve – striking full and half hours on a bell.

Clock decorated in Boulle type marquetry - brass foliage on the background of faux tortoiseshell, with gilt bronze mounts.
Case in very good, original condition, no missing pieces of Boulle style inlays, very nice, natural patina. Gilt bronze mounts complete, with patina. No traces of previous restorations or cleaning both clock-case and bronzes. Retailer's or clockmaster's sticker on back of the case: URAMAKARE / O. RYDEN / TEL: MALMO 2604, Swedish clockmaster active in Malmo on turn of 19th/20th c.

Parisian movement of very good technical quality stamped: C.H. / PARIS in oval and JUST in circle (both marks used by Charles HOUR), numbers: 322 / 4 * 6. Pendulum stamped CH in oval and number 322 - original from this clock, other stamps on pendulum: 23 and P. Notice - antique clock movement may need some regulations after delivery. Movement works, strikes half- and full hours. Winding key present.

Gilt brass dial, 12 enamel cartouches with blue Roman characters, in perfect condition. Bronze with nice, natural patina. Dial's diameter: 96 mm.

Dimensions: H33 x 19,8 x 10,7 cm.

Charles HOUR - Parisian clockmaster active in late 19th c., well known from good quality carriage clocks, was making also other clocks and movements. From early 20th c. had a company "Diette Fils and Hour", from 1927 after association with Maurice Lavigne - "Hour, Lavingne and Cie", later known as "Hour Lavigne".
