Yamaha - XT 500 D - 1977

Yamaha - XT500 - 1977 The first XT500 was released in 1976. Only 500 were made. The second model had a number of significant improvements making it the first real usable off-road machine. This Yamaha XT500 type D is becoming increasingly rare and much sought and is from 1977. To be precise, first registered on 31-12-1977. Thirty years from the same owner. This makes the odometer reading of 30,000 km probably correct. Original bike in used condition with a beautiful patina. The indestructible 500cc single-cylinder starts after one kick and runs nice and steady. The gearbox shifts well. Always driven but it needs some TLC, the parts are not expensive, I would change the tyres (good profile but they are road tyres and somewhat old) chain, sprockets and new oil. Visually in used condition but that doesn't make it any less fun. This 40 year old cult bike can look nicer if left as it is. For those who still want to restore it, there is a small dent on the bottom left of the tank, a little rust on the rear fender and the taillight is not original. The exhaust is a little rusty but hard. Loose engine protector included. Dutch registration. This motorcycle can be viewed and picked up in Boxtel, the Netherlands.
