Authentic PHILIPS disc speaker type 2007 (Pancake) from 1929, working

From own collection, this beautiful bakelite Philips disc speaker type 2007 (high impedance) from 1929. The radio-reception apparatus was not yet equipped with a built-in speaker: this had to be purchased separately. Along with the receiver type 2534 by Philips from 1930, the Philips Popular Combination was born. (This radio receiver box 2534 type of Philips is also in this auction.) The bakelite discs of this Philips speaker 2007 are fully intact and colourfully flamed with “gold splashes” among other things. Each one was different because the ingredients (Philite) were mixed by hand. The cloth at the rear is on a spherical metal grill and has a few small wear holes; this has not been replaced because the quality is still pretty good and it is better for the authenticity. The cast iron base has been repainted. This speaker has a normal 2-pole radio connector, but can be provided with a special connector with three positions with which the timbre of the sound can be slightly adjusted. Although this special plug is now very hard to find, the speaker and the 3-pole cord is ready. Of course, the speaker also plays great with the normal plug which is currently mounted. The impedance of this Philips 2007 is approximately 2000 Ohm, Ohm and 500 Ohm and 1500 with branches on the old 3 wire cord replaced by a new 3-wire cord with textile spinning. The plug is connected to the 1500 ohm branch for the “middle timbre”. This speaker took Hfl at that time. 52.50. Designer was Engineer Louis Christiaan Kalff. Some light signs of wear and age can be found on the device, but these are absolutely not disturbing. The dimensions are 450 x 480 x 130 mm. Weight: 2,5 kg Due to its fragility, it is preferable to pick up the device in Amersfoort-NL. All shipping is properly packaged, and sent by registered and insured mail.
