This is a hand-knotted Bidjar carpet, made of durable, natural materials.
The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Bidjar is located in the west of Iran.
Bidjars are designed both with and without a medallion, this is called a Herati pattern.
Bidjars are made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp. They're often thick and compact rugs with the pile almost pointing straight up.
This is why Bidjar rugs are excellent for regular use, with extremely high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
Approx. 296 x 197 cm.
Brick, cream, green and blue shades.
Wonderful shine; Lots of nap; Rich abrash (natural colour variations), and discolourations due to sunlight, this emphasises the traditional character of this carpet.
