Impressive image of Jesus Christ with hands tied

Technique: Lithograph
Year: 20th century
Edition: Original
Condition: Overall in fairly good condition with traces of ageing and usage
Title of artwork: Geknevelde Christus
Signature: Not signed
Artist: Steendruk

This painting with a very distinctive image of Christ in ties is a lithography and is been sold at some point by the famous art dealer Gebroeders Koch in Rotterdam".

The painting is framed by a beautiful detailed wooden frame with the following dimensions:

Width: 72 cm
Length: 92 cm

The frame has sings of aging and on the bottom light paint damage. Not be visible when it hangs on the wall.
The painting also has traces of time. See photos.

However, it is still very impressive and imposing.

The lithography takes its name from the Greek: lithos is stone and graph means writing. It is called a flat bed method not working with relief.
A lithograph is a print of a drawing on stone. This uses the property that water and oil (printing ink is oil) repel each other and oily substances attract other oily substances. Greasy printing ink, which is applied with a roll, attaches to the oily drawing and not to the drawing surface. When you put on a sheet of paper and press hard enough you get a mirror-image of the original.

Your lot will be packaged very carefully and sent by registered parcel.
Including track & trace.

Pick up in Gaastmeer (the Netherlands) is always possible, including a cup of coffee.
