Wrought iron and copper, wood, pottery, and glass, late 19th century and early 20th century, The Netherlands
Beautiful collection of old attributes, which were used by pharmacists to make pills and ointments.
The collection consists of:
A 19th century plank for making pills.
Old 19th century earthenware ointment jars.
19th century copper mortar and pestle.
19th century copper funnel.
11 brown glass apothecary jars in various sizes, some still with old label.
Special old 17 piece cork drilling set with 16 copper drills, from the end of the 19th or early 20th century. These drills were available in different sets, from 3 up to 18 pieces. Also see the image in the ancient medical catalogue.
The wrought iron handles are numbered. Besides the numbering, some are also marked with hallmarks shaped like a crown of the blacksmith. This set is in good but used condition
Set was used to make and drill corks in the right size for the different sizes bottles and jars that were used.
I do not know what the wooden block and wooden pestle were used for.
