Tommy Metz had a guitar store in Vierssen, Germany and built his own guitars: Tommy’s Special Guitar, which is comparable to the best customshop guitars by Fender. He suddenly passed away in 2015. Metz built the guitars himself in small runs, selected the woods and the best pickups and parts. Famous guitarists like Larry Carlton and Carl Verheyen were among his clientele. This Telecaster was built in 2000 and is signed and marked on the body as well as on the neck, has a beautiful flamed mahogany neck, is light as a feather (2.9 kg) and plays like butter.
