Mechanical, 8-day movement with extra heavy gong strike
Gustav Becker died in 1885.
His son, Paul Albert Becker, continued running the company.
In 1930 they merged with Junghans.
Mighty oak regulators, especially in terms of sound. The gong is the so-called Harfer gong, producing sounds like a church clock. Lovely to listen to.
Five faceted cut glass plates in an oak framework. The pendulum too is made in oak.
The measurements are 670 mm x 310 mm and the dial has a diameter of 175 mm.
No top ornament.
Also present is a plaque at the bottom of W. Spiekerman, currently a large clock store chain with nearly 70 shops in Germany.
I assume the year is 1942, like is engraved on the back of the beautiful timepiece.
Very beautiful and thankful clock, as it still runs precisely on time.
The photos are part of the description.
