Text written by Umenoya Tsuruko and illustrated by Totoya Hokkei (1780-1850),
Published by Odamaki Tei in the early 1830s.
The book contained 14 double paged illustrations.
Signed "Aoigaoka Hokkei ga".
Hokkei was a pupil of Hokusai and worked with him.
On a thin Japanese washi paper, each sheet 22.8x 28.8cm, original size.
Printed in black, grey, red, green and blue.
Some small worm-damage repaired, pages mounted together professionally (without backing/doubling).
Some finger-soiling to the lower areas.
The book is in the collection of the MFA-Boston under accession-number 1997.569.
I used 2 scans to cover the complete oban-sizes, pictures might show the copy/paste-lines.
Will be sent under heavy cardboards, acid-free protected, and fully insured.
