Simca - Aronde P60 Montlhéry Spéciale - 1962
Established in 1926, the SAFAF (Société Anonyme Francais de Automobiles Fiat) gradually gave up its position to Simca (Société industrielle de mécanique et de carrosserie automobile) from 1934 on when production was fully implemented in France. In 1951, Simca distinguished itself more clearly with the presentation at the Paris show of the Simca 9 Aronde (swallow in old French). This brand new vehicle didn’t share any parts of the bodywork with a Fiat model and was based on the first unibody produced by Simca. A true revolution! In technical terms, this propulsion received two types of engines: the 1,221 cc (from 1951 to 1955) heirs of the Simca 8, then the Flash and Rush engines of 1,290 cc with 45 to 57 hp. 1,4 million copies were built through to 1963.
This superb model is a P60 Montlhéry Spéciale sedan from 1962 featuring the Rush engine 1290 cm3 with 57 hp and 4-speed transmission. An uncommon version in exceptional condition: bodywork, metallic grey paint and cockpit are in very good condition, perfect engine.
This vehicle is of Italian origin (Rome) and the current owner still has documents and the original registration. He can even provide the old Italian licence plates which were mounted on the vehicle when it was new. He also has a file with old invoices allowing the history of the vehicle to be traced and which confirm the low mileage. French classic cars registration with MOT valid until March 22, 2022.
Among the recent work done, the fuel tank has been completely cleaned and renovated. A vehicle in truly rare condition, no dents, no corrosion. This vehicle can be viewed and retrieved in Sainte-Croix-en-Plaine, in Alsace, France.
