Silkscreen print - signed - edition of 175 copies - 2012
|Title of artwork:||Groucho Marx|
For an exhibition in Gallery Champaka in Brussels Joost Swarte made seven drawings in which traffic has a leading role. The drawings are loosely inspired by “Trafic”, one of the last films of Jacques Tati. In the seven drawings, especially made for the exhibition, we see a couple of Swarte's original heroes, each “using” a means of transport in their own way.
After the exhibition in Brussels the seven drawings were released as silkscreen print and bundled in a portfolio. Herein the use of colour has been adapted and made more eloquent by using only a limited number of colours and a lot of grey.
In the portfolio only the title page is numbered and signed.
Especially for Griffin Graphics he numbered and signed a few prints separately.
This is one of those specially numbered and signed copies.
