Condition: excellent. Fresh and thick paper. Powerful print and exceptionally beautiful colouring. Text on other side in Latin.
Very nice print of the miniature map of France, in very good condition. From "Tabularum geographicarum contractarum libri septem", in 1618 in the Latin edition, published by Hondius in Amsterdam.
Petrus Bertius (1565-1629) was born in Flanders and educated in Leiden as theologian, mathematician and historian. Best known, however, for his work as cartographer, just like his brothers-in-law Jodocus Hondius and Pieter Van den Keere (Kaerius).
