Ron Brinkman was born in Zaandijk in 1952, in the middle of the famous brackish water peatlands.
This area, home to many birds and special plants, soon attracted his attention.
From the age of 14 he wandered around and in 1974, that resulted in his book “Nog leeft dit polderland,
zwerftochten door het Westzijderveld”. From the moment he was seized by bird fever,
he drew and painted everything that appeared in front of his binoculars. His education as an advertising and decoration painter
came in handy. After this training, he worked as a colour specialist in an art print shop with
important clients such as the Rijksmuseum, the van Gogh museum and the Hermitage.
In his weekly column in a regional weekly magazine he wrote for many years excitedly about
the area he was born.
With intervals he painted birds especially. For the past two years, he has been painting on a daily basis in
his studio. Since last year, his work is freely available on the art market. He combines his great colour expertise, colour memory,
brush skill and years of field experience successfully in his work.
