Author: Alberto Korda, my father, was one of the few cuban photojournalists responsible for capturing the world’s attention with the Cuban Revolution Propaganda. He followed the Cuban leaders around and became Fidel Castro's personal photographer for more than a decade
Personal Collection, Dante Korda.
My father preserved this photo as a memory of the spontaneous reaction of a man in a circumstantial conflict, ”Che is angry he feels indignant, but at the same time he shows confidence and courage.” he said.
Brief Account: “...it was taken at random, a lot of coincidences... -Fidel Castro was giving an oration at a memorial service for the victims of the French Freighter, Le Coubre explosion on March 4, 1960 in Havana harbor-. I was looking through my camera when Che appeared. I was impressed by his facial expression and clicked twice. After that I started looking for him, but he wasn’t there anymore. We both met at the perfect moment, sometimes I think it was destiny,” my father recalled.
Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Dante Korda
Photo is in excellent condition with no noticeable surface imperfections
This is a stunning image hand made.
