This is a hand-knotted Bidjar rug, made of durable, natural materials.
The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Bidjar is located in the west of Iran.
Bidjar rugs are designed both with and without a medallion, this is called a Herati pattern.
Bidjar rugs are made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread). They often are thick and compact rugs with the pile almost pointing straight up.
This is why Bidjar rugs are excellent for regular use, with an extremely high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
Main colour: Salmon/brick.
Orange, green, beige, yellow and blue shades.
Splendid shine, lots of nap, rich abrash (natural colour variations), beautiful shine.
Signs of wear:
This carpet is partially discoloured due to exposure to sunlight.
