Oswald Grill (* August 30, 1878 in Vienna, † January 13, 1964 Vienna) was an Austrian painter.
Oswald Grill, who was born in Vienna, worked as a freelance artist in Dachau since 1906 after studying painting with Karl Karger at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna and with Carl von Marr and Alexander von Wagner at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. On his return to Vienna, Grill, who became a member of the Wiener Künstlerhaus in 1908, served as Vice President and President of the Central Association of Austrian Fine Arts Artists from 1917 to 1938.
The painterly work of Oswald Grill, who was appointed professor in 1929, consisted mainly of natural and landscape scenes, as well as portraits, which were exhibited at the Künstlerhaus in Vienna and the glass palace in Munich.
Oswald Grill was honoured with numerous honours, including the Golden Emblem of the Republic of Austria, the Small Golden State Medal and the Golden Laurel of the Viennese Künstlerhaus.
The painting is in good condition.
The dimensions including frame are approx 38 x 46 cm.
