This is a hand-knotted Sarough rug, made of durable, natural materials.
Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Sarough (or Saruq) is located in the western part of Iran.
Sarough carpets are made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp. rugs are made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread).
The wool is known for its shine.
The knotting technique makes the rug extra strong.
Saruq rugs are excellent for regular use and have a high durability.
In later times, Saruq rugs were also made in India. These are called oriental rugs.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and characteristic due to the natural ageing process.
