A traditional, elegant Dogon unique equestrian figure in black iron. The horse has an elongated body with fine legs, an arched neck, an open mouth and perforated eyes. It is a stallion which is exceptional and rarely shown. The rider's head and the legs are of normal proportions while the arms are short.
Horse riders had a high reputation in the Dogon culture. They stand for wealth, power and strength. It would bring honor to the ancestors, the current leadership and the owner of the sculpture.
