This vehicle was produced at the MG Car Company's factory at Abingdon, UK. It 's assembly was completed on the 4th July 1951 and the vehicle was shipped to North America.. This information has been extracted from the Factory Build Records which fortunately survive to this day.

The current owner purchased the vehicle in February 2015 and at that time it could be described as in "Barn Find" condition. (Photographs to confirm).

The vehicle was delivered to Nottingham Vehicle Restorations Ltd who were instructed to carry out a full and total rebuild. The body was removed, all the panels were stripped, primed and repainted. There was no rot found and the Ash frame was in perfect order. The chassis was also stripped of all paint then primed and repainted. The wheels were bead blasted, powder coated and fitted with new tyres. All the bright metal work was rechromed or replaced. A new wiring harness was commissioned and fitted with new Lucas King of the Road Headlamps and side lamps. A reconditioned wiper motor was acquired along with new wiper mechanism. New trim, door cards and dash facia were manufactured by Regal Furnishings who also supplied new seating in genuine Red Hide. The speedometer and rev. counter were reconditioned by a specialist. The Octagon TD Owners Club were incredibly helpful in providing various nuts, bolts, trim parts, gaskets and a complete set of genuine Double Duck weather equipment. The finished article is as close to the original specification as possible with the exception of being fitted with an electric fan monitored by a header tank thermostat and the torpedo sidelights have been converted to indicators with orange bulbs, the side lights have been incorporated in the headlights and rear indicators have been added. The gearbox has been replaced but with a genuine 4 speed TD gearbox.
A CD disk has recorded all the various stages of this incredible transformation. The vehicle is now ready to be enjoyed and possibly shown at Classic Car gatherings. Any inspection is not only welcomed but also encouraged.
