This is a hand-knotted Mir carpet, made of durable and natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Mir rugs are knotted in the mountainous area in and around Arak, in western Iran.
Characteristic for a Mir is the contemporary design, called Boteh or Paisley pattern, a droplet shape with the tips pointing in one direction. A Mir often has a continuous pattern, but some have a medallion and corner patterns.
Mir rugs are durable rugs, made of wool on a cotton warp, they are often thick, full rugs with exceptionally high durability.
This is a used rug; these rugs have often become more beautiful and richer in character as a result of the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
This Mir is highly suited for a showroom, a practice space or a large living room.
