This is a hand-knotted Sarough rug, made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
This Sarough was made in India; originally, Sarough carpets were made in Iran.
Sarough (or Saruq) is located in the western part of Iran.
Sarough rugs are made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread). The wool is known for its shine. The knotting technique makes for an extra strong rug.
Sarough rugs are excellent for regular use, with a high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
