Oak statue in very good condition
Striking statue of the Saint Boniface. One of the major European Anglo-Saxon missionaries who were at the base of the Christianisation of Northern Europe.
The origin of Boniface(England) is indicated on the staff with the Celtic triskele (eternity symbol); In addition, in his right hand he holds the open Scripture (Bible). Boniface was killed at Dokkum, the Netherlands, Friesland, in 754, murdered by the Teutons.
The statue was made by a wood cutter in the Black Forest. Boniface is also the Apostle of Germany.
The statue is 51.5 cm high and 18 cm wide.
