H. G. Wells - La Paix d'un homme raisonnable - Cécil Georges-Bazile - 1917 - 8 pages - duodecimo - paperback - excellent condition
It is a fascicule edited and printed by Cécil Georges Bazile with the endorsement of the English censorship giving the vision of peace wished by H. G Wells. After having translated works of this immense author (see other sale), Cécil Georges-Bazile was contacted by H. G. Wells to translate his hope for peace into French. The text is visionary and edifying. It is signed by H. G. Wells himself in pen in thanks and not cut.
This is a the original edition signed by the author to Cécil Georges-bazile, author, translator and French printer who had the privilege of translating the works of Oscar Wilde or H.G. Wells among others.
On the strength of these appreciated translations, Cécil Georges-Bazile never ceased to solicit various English and American authors. An impressive collection of dedications or signed letters from these authors, such as H.G. Wells, for example, was produced and regularly received signed or unwritten presentations in the event of translation. Most of the works are also signed by Cécil Georges-Bazile (see my other auction lots).
