The contents of the letter: acknowledgment and request for reimbursement from the English publisher who advanced the fees for the French translation
This is the original french edition accompanied by a letter with letterhead written and signed by H. G. Wells to Cécil Georges-Bazile, author, translator and French printer who had the privilege of translating the works of Oscar Wilde or H.G. Wells among others.
On the strength of these appreciated translations, Cécil Georges-Bazile never ceased to solicit various English and American authors. An impressive collection of dedications or signed letters from these authors, such as H.G. Wells, for example, was produced and regularly received signed or unwritten presentations in the event of translation. Most of the works are also signed by Cécil Georges-Bazile (see my other auction lots).
