A rare mezzotint gravure on thick art paper, by important German pictorialist photographer Otto Ehrhard (1860-1942) From 1913. Image shows an entrance to an upper class house, in a pictorialist manner. Ehrhardt was a master of pictorialist photography..
Typographically annotated "Otto Ehrhardt", and "Photogr. Verlagsges. m.b.H. Halle a/S.". On top of the image there is a credit to the printer "Mezzotinto Bruckmann". Bruckmann was probably the best German printing company for art books and prints during the first half of the 20th century. They were specializing in heliogravure, mezzotint gravure and also early color printing. The quality of this rare mezzotint gravure, printed in 1913, is therefore outstanding.
There is an exhibition catalogue from 1995 and a MA thesis available for this photographer. Ehrhardt photos are in the collection of most German museums, notably the ones in Dresden.
