From 1980s, Italy.
Four Cricket folding chairs designed by Andries Van Onck, produced by Magis Italia in the 1980s, metal and grey-coloured plastic.
The Cricket folding chair was born of the idea to bring together simple geometric figures (a circle, a coloured oval and various black orthogonal lines). This concept is achieved by the folding of the chairs.
Andries Van Onck (born in 1928 in Amsterdam) studied industrial design in Holland and then at the Hochschule Für Gestaltung in Ulm with Tomas Maldonado, Walter Zeischegg and Max Bill.
From 1959, he lived in Italy, where he collaborated with the accomplished designer Ettore Sottsass Jr.
