This is a hand-knotted Sarough rug, made of durable, natural materials.
Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Sarough (or Saruq) is located in the western part of Iran.
Sarough carpets are made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread).
The wool is known for its shine.
The knotting technique makes the rug extra strong.
Sarough rugs are excellent for regular use and have a high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
Main colour: ochre
Accent colours: red, cream, old pink and shades of blue.
Specifics: rich gloss; lots of nap; bright colours.
Signs of wear: discolourations related to sunlight exposure accentuate the artisan character of this carpet; fringe is of a lesser condition at one place.
