This is a hand-knotted Tabriz carpet made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Tabriz is one of Iran's oldest cities.
Tabriz rugs come in various designs; they often depict old palaces or ruins. The most common colours are beige, blue and red. They are durable, high-quality rugs, often made of fine wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread). A good Tabriz has a short and rough pile. They're excellent carpets for regular use, with high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character thanks to the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
Main colour: blue
Accent colours: cream, brick, salmon, soft yellow, red and shades of green.
Particularities: clear and warm colours.
Signs of wear: a sole moth-damaged spot from the past. (photo 10)
