For offer, a rare, original, WW1 German 6" (150mm) Howitzer brass shell case, dated for 1916. This excellent condition shell case, has numerous ordnance marks and stampings to the base, and was manufactured in Polte, Magdeburg, Germany in June 1916. Please see photos for all markings. The "SP289" denotes the control/inspection mark for Patronenfabrik Polte Magdeburg. This is a large, heavy piece of brass, and makes an excellent wine bottle coaster, and always gets a lot of interest and comments when used as such, please note, that the bottle of Champagne is not included, as it has already been consumed :o) Size: Diameter 150mm (6") x Height 11cm (4 3/8") Weight: 1.74 Kg (3 Lb 13.5 oz) Posted tracked & insured, so bid safely.
