2 bottles of Age Siglo 1970 Gran Reserva 1er Centenario (1881-1981) - 75 cl.
Wine bought from a private cellar in Haro, La Rioja, in 2006.
Stored in cellar up to today.
Wine was supposed to be bottled as Gran Reserva in January 1975 but due to the extraordinary quality of the 1970 vintage some selected barrels were separated and remained unbottled until November 1978. Only 1.200 botlles (4 barrels) were produced and packed in a luxurious commemorative edition wine case, as well as 1964 vintage, to celebrate 100 anniversary of Age-Azpilicueta Winery. Vinified using exactly the same methods from the 19th century.
Cellared in the old winery "Bodegas El Romeral - Félix Azpilicueta", in Fuenmayor, La Rioja. Matured in big wooden vats, from the founding time of the winery, without temperature control for 12 months, and then poured to cask and aged for 90 months. Racked for 15 times, once every 6 months, using the traditional cask-to-cask Riojan method. Bottled directly from the barrel and sold by purchase order from the cellar in 1981.
