Sterling 925/1000 - 177 grams, 12cm bowl
A lidded sugar bowl, measuring 12cm long, 9cm wide and 6.7cm tall, of lobed design, each lobe draped with a lily leaf, the handle shaped as a scrolling acanthus leaf issuing forth areas of wheat, the knob as a seed-bearing fruit. The bowl stands on four feet embellished with a seashell motif, connected by voluted scrolls. Bears hallmarks for Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard, London, i = 1826.
The spoon measures 10½cm in length and bears hallmarks for Richard Crossley, 1792. Towards the tip, it is engraved with a depiction of a monkey holding a match, below the text "I mean well".
Condition: Minor wear, some very small dings, otherwise good.
