Antique authentic Persian Kashan Kurk rug, extremely fine, very beautiful
It's a city full of history and monuments with a great tradition in rug weaving. Even at the time of the Safavid dynasty, Kashan was renowned for the craftsmanship and sophistication of its weavers, so much so that in this city once stood a royal rug weaving workshop, to which many polonaises can be attributed. There followed a period of decline which lasted until the mid-nineteenth century, when rug weaving returned to its previous splendour. The production of this period has left many specimens, which have turned the Kashan rugs of the late 19th century into the most renowned of the antique Persian rugs.
